Listening

TASK 2
Report shows that it is increasingly expensive to keep museums open to public. Find the best way to fund them (government, business or individuals).
题目分析:
题目类型:社会类
提问方式:报告类
In the modern cities, museums not only have been the place to store ancient stuffs, but also a symbol of one city's cultural heritage. Because of carrying the cultural meaning, museums have always been free for citizens, but the huge expenditure in running them cannot be ignored, which is worth thinking about some solutions.
Nowadays, influenced by the globalization, it is more important to maintain and develop our culture in the younger generation, and as one of the main parts in spreading the knowledge of traditions and history, museum plays an indispensable role with educational meanings to all the teenagers in the country as well as tourists attracted by diversity. Besides, the things left by our ancestors belong to all the human beings, which means that no matter who you are, it is the basic right to visit the museum for free. And obviously, the cost in maintenance and protection is tremendous, and our expectation is really high, bringing huge pressure to both the government and the museum.
In order to make the museum better, gaining support and financial aid from the society is necessary. Museum also can be a part of the development of the region, so that the government has the responsibility to allocate some of its fiscal revenue which mainly comes from the tax to the operation of the museums; combined with this, calling up the big companies to sponsor by the government could be an effective way to get more investment in the development of the museums. In addition, individuals living in the world should make some effort to protect the precious gift from thousands years ago, and what we can do is to donate for it and make sure its function in education fields can be sustainable, lasting for a long time.
In conclusion, in spite of a number of difficulties in maintaining and protecting the museums, there are still a lot of things we can do; as long as we can realize the importance of them and begin to seek the way of solving the problems, I believe there will be a brighter future for all the museums.

二、具体题目分析:
Describe a time you made a complaint and were satisfied with the result
You should say:
who you complained to
what you complained about
why you complained
and explain how you felt about the result.
The thing I once complained about was my cousin’s attitude towards his great grandmother Kate. He was usually mad at Kate, mainly because Kate liked to ask him the same questions over and over again. And the questions were extremely simple, such as who he was, what he did, who his parents were, etc. And the most terrible thing was that Kate would start asking him the same series of questions once they stop conversing for just 5 seconds. See, her memory was even worse than a goldfish.
My cousin was quite short-tempered, so every time he was forced to chat with Kate, he would definitely get angry at her. He would even shout that Kate was such an idiot, for she couldn’t remember anything.
So last time I saw my cousin swear at Kate, I complained to him badly about his behavior. I told him it was very rude, and he didn’t know how much Kate loved him. To be honest, Kate seldom talked to other people in the family, but she was always talkative in front of my cousin. That means, she wanted to know about him, and tried to remember something about him. More importantly, it was not Kate’s fault after all. She had been a victim of Alzheimer's disease for several years, and she felt quite lonely in the family, cuz most of our family members thought it was like casting pearls before swine to have a conversation with her.
Finishing my words, my cousin realized that Kate didn’t annoy him on purpose, but because of her serious disease. From then on, he became more patient with Kate, and every time he went to visit Kate, he would answer her questions patiently, no matter how many times Kate recycled the questions. And I also feel fairly happy with that.广州雅思英语学校成立于1999年,现任校长是有中国雅思“教父”之称的中国社会科学院博士、中国雅思教育开拓者,资深留学教育专家万昌明博士。
